Milo eyes the book store sign. Enters the book store and glances around. He peers out the window at the rooftop across the street where the figure was. as he looks from behind the books a hand stretches out and taps on his shoulder from behind. "Ack!", he yells. The book store clerk, "Can I help you?" He pauses, "Actually ... is there a back door?" Glaring, she points towards the back of the store.

Milo sat there holding his hand out with no response from the kid. The kid, "Jack... but..." The boy paused as Milo looked across the street to the roof line again, the figure was gone. " I'd be gettin' grief from my mom for even talkin' to you." Milo looked to the book store behind them, "Umm... O.K." Milo gets up and stand behind the bench, "Alright Jack I gotta run but to make up for it ... do you know Big Daddy's Patties?" Jack, "Well ya of course." Milo, "O.K. tell Louis, Milo sent you and that I owe you a burger." Jack, "Serious?" Milo, "ya." Jack, "Sweet!"

A Time to Be Cranky Vol2 p32

Milo states, "Wow... aren't you a bit cranky." The kid, "Really?" He turns, "I'm twelve, I'm the shortest kid in my class, I'm bald... worse than bald, I get teased in school, and now some dude I've never met is grillin' me at the bus stop on my way home from goin' to the library." Milo notices a figure watching them from on top of a building across the street, "...and I'm cranky?" Milo turns away and scratches his head. Then says, "So... ya you're cranky... and prob a good right to be so... Sorry I'm "grillin' ya" was gonna say its gotta be tough." Milo puts out his hand to shake, "And well... the name is Milo."
